1.1. The EU General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2000 and the Data Protection Amendment Act 2018 serve the right to protection of personal data. We process your data exclusively on the basis of statutory provisions (GDPR, DSG 2018, TKG 2003).

2.2. It is very important to us to protect and securely store all personal data that you entrust to us. This document tells you more about how we use and process your personal data.
2.3. Due to the GDPR, which has been in force since 28 May 2018, we hereby inform you that we process the following personal data at our company, SAMONIG Sägewerk und Holzhandels GmbH, in Fürnitz:
You have voluntarily provided us with data about yourself, and we process this data exclusively to convey information, stay in touch and complete projects. Your data will not be used for other purposes or shared with third parties.
The data you provided is also required for contract performance or to take steps prior to entering into a contract. We cannot perform a contract with you without this data
We store your data within the scope of our statutory retention obligations.
You can withdraw your consent in writing at any time. If you do so, we will no longer process your data for the above-mentioned purposes from that point on. To withdraw your consent, please contact our managing director Peter Naverschnig.
Legal remedies:
You generally have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and the right to object. Please contact us to exercise these rights. If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection laws or your data protection rights have been violated in any other way, you can lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority. In Austria, the Data Protection Authority is responsible.
3. Purpose limitation, legal basis, storage duration and data recipients
3.1. In general, you can visit our website and view its content without providing any personal data. If you contact us via the contact details we provide on our website (such as our e-mail, telephone or fax number), the data you provide will be stored by us for six months to process your inquiry and in the event of any follow-up questions. We do not share your personal data without your consent, but we cannot rule out the possibility that this data could be viewed unlawfully. We require the personal data we collect for contract performance, billing and customer service. Your data is collected, stored, processed and used for these purposes.
3.2. We process the personal data you provide and disclose to us (e-mail address, name, address, telephone number, fax number) as needed for the full duration of the business relationship (from initiation to processing and termination of a contract) and beyond, in accordance with the statutory retention and documentation obligations arising from the Austrian Commercial Code (UGB) and the Federal Fiscal Code (BAO), and until the end of any legal dispute, ongoing warranty or guarantee periods, etc.
If you send us personal data by e-mail – i.e. outside of this website – we cannot guarantee secure transmission and protection of your data. There is no way to completely protect data from being accessed by a third party. We recommend that you never send confidential data by unencrypted e-mail.
3.3. The legal bases for the processing of your personal data are, on the one hand, contract performance, legitimate interests, the fulfilment of our legal or contractual obligations and, on the other hand, your consent. Failure to provide data may have various consequences. For example, we may not be able to guarantee contract performance.
3.4. Data processing is carried out on the basis of the legal provisions of Section 96(3) TKG and Art. 6 GDPR (in particular, consent and/or necessity of contract performance).
4. Automatic data storage
When you visit a website today, including this website, certain information is automatically created and stored.
4.1. When you visit our website, our web server (computer/server on which this website is stored) automatically saves data known as web server log files. These files contain the following data and information:
These recorded IP addresses, which also fall under personal data, are immediately pseudonymised. This means that only the rough location of visitors to our website can be determined. We do not use this data and generally do not share it, but we cannot rule out the possibility that this data may be viewed unlawfully.
4.2. The web server log files mentioned above are created for operational security, to compile access statistics, etc. They are stored for two weeks and then automatically deleted. Error log files are also created, which help us troubleshoot issues. These are automatically deleted after two weeks also.

5.1. Our website uses cookies, which are small blocks of data that enable us to recognise users and analyse their use of our website. The information this generates is transferred to the service provider’s server and stored there. Cookies are also used to measure how often a page is viewed and for general navigation. Cookies do not damage your computer and do not contain viruses. They are used to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. Most of the cookies we use are session cookies. They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. The ECJ considers the United States to be a country with an inadequate level of data protection based on EU standards. In particular, there is a risk that your data may be processed by US authorities for control and monitoring purposes, possibly without the option of legal recourse.
Important information: On 10 July 2023, the European Commission issued a new adequacy decision for the secure and trustworthy transfer of data between Europe and the USA. Accordingly, the USA is considered a secure third country for the transfer of personal data in accordance with Art. 45 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
6. Consent and right of withdrawal
6.1. If your consent is required to process your data, we will only process it after you have given your express consent.
6.2. In general, we do not process the data of minors and are not authorised to do so. By giving your consent, you confirm that you have reached the age of 14 or that you have the consent of your legal representative.
6.3. You can withdraw your consent at any time by sending an e-mail to office@samonig.net. If you do so, the data being stored about you will be anonymised and from then on will only be used for statistical purposes without personal reference. Withdrawing your consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before the withdrawal.
7. Data security
7.1. We use technical and organisational security measures to protect stored personal data against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss or destruction and against access by unauthorised persons. Our security measures are being continually improved as technology evolves.
8. Your rights
8.1. You have the right to obtain information about your personal data from the controller, SAMONIG Sägewerk und Holzhandels GmbH – Peter Naverschnig, at any time. If there is no legal obligation to retain this data, you have the right to have it erased and the right to object to its processing. You also have the right to rectification of your data, the right to restrict its processing, the right to data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority.

9. Google Fonts privacy policy
We use Google Fonts from Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) on our website. We have stored and integrated the Google fonts we use for our website locally on our web server. No data (e.g. IP addresses) is transferred to Google servers in the United States during local integration. Google Fonts are used without authentication, and no cookies are sent to the Google Fonts API. If you have an account with Google, none of your Google account data will be transmitted to Google when you use Google Fonts. 10. Font Awesome
This site uses Font Awesome to uniformly display fonts and symbols. The service provider is Fonticons, Inc., 6 Porter Road, Apartment 3R, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. When you open a page, your browser loads the required fonts into your browser cache in order to display texts, fonts and symbols correctly. To do this, the browser you are using must connect to Font Awesome’s servers. As a result, Font Awesome becomes aware that this website has been accessed via your IP address. Use of Font Awesome is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in the uniform presentation of the typeface on our website. If consent to do so has been requested, processing is done exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, insofar as your consent includes storage of cookies or access to information on your end device (e.g. device fingerprinting). Consent can be withdrawn at any time. If your browser does not support Font Awesome, your computer will use a standard font.
